Yep here is Lexi!
We brought her home last night. I saw her picture in the vet's office earlier in the week and I called Kate and told her about the picture. I had just mentioned to her days before that I was really liking the boxer breed of dog lately. Lexi is a Boxer/Pit mix. She is just adorable and I think is going to fit into our family just fine. We met her parents and they were very friendly and we liked what we saw. So now to the housebreaking and the puppy kisses.

WooHoo! I love puppies. Did you name her after Alexis?
ReplyDeleteOK... I'm dying!! SHE'S SO CUTE!!! And speaking as the owner of a six-yr-old Boxer/Pit mix myself, I can tell you that you've made a fabulous choice. They are THE BEST... so smart, full of energy, aim to please their owner at all times. She'll learn lots of tricks if you take the time to teach her... and be prepared to take out stock in Wilson because you will most likely keep them in business singlehandedly because of your tennis ball purchasing habits ;)
ReplyDeleteThe only drawback is that you might occasionally get those "Oh, that's a pitbull!" stares... some people can be so ignorant. Erick (my DH) has a meetup group for bully breed owners... they meet once or twice a month and walk together... its great because people who own bully breeds understand them and love them... no judgment amongst fellow owners. You are welcome to join, if you'd like... and your other dogs would be welcomed, too :) Friends of ours who are members of the group just got a puppy, too. She is nine weeks old and her name is Dakota. She looks a bit like Lexi, too :) Here is the meetup group link: http://apbt.meetup.com/256/
Erick and I love the Dog Whisperer and have found his training tips to be especially helpful with our dogs (we also have a chocolate lab/pit mix). If you haven't checked him out, I recommend him, too. He has a real heart for pit bull mixes and some of the things we learned from him helped assure a smooth transition when we added our second dog to the family.
OK... long winded enough? So excited for you! She's adorable, congrats!! :)
Oh, puppy kisses! Best wishes to the entire Stilling's family.
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up! she is adorable, I think she and Smudge will be the best of friends! Who would have thought we would become moms to little girls the same week! LOL Trish
ReplyDeletePuppy Breath and puppy toes! I love puppies more than babies! Yay!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! And I tried so hard to talk you out of her...NOT!! Can't wait to meet her. She is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh i LOVE puppy bellies!!! So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your puppy is adorable! And can I just say for the record that Stillings is a great football name? I mean, it will look perfect on an NFL jersey!
