"Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down." ---Oprah Winfrey
I love that quote from Oprah! It is something I wrote down when I heard it years ago. I was looking thru some things last night and came across it.
After a weekend of spending time with 200 woman and getting to know Ali a little better. I have been thinking alot about the dynamics of friendships and acquaintances. I also realized alot about the people I do call friends.
I found new friendships developing this weekend. Some got alot stronger this weekend.
I observed alot this weekend also, amazing when you get to just step back and watch.
I hope some of the friendships and acquaintances made this weekend turn into some amazing relationships. I know I felt connections getting stronger this weekend. Now I only hope that people take the time for each other.
Happy Halloween

Rollie-
ReplyDeleteI don't know you but I'm so inspired by what you did for Ali, Simon, and the autism foundation. What a good, good woman you are!
I will walk a mile with you.
ReplyDeleteyou know-
ReplyDeletethis weekend was an eyeopener for those that you thought were friends, turned out to be just users for their own benefit. Although fun was had, I do believe there were some that walked away with a new understanding of just what their "friendship" meant to you...
rollie what an inspiration this weekend was! i know i blogged about it as soon as i got home...that the fact that so many people can come together and make a difference is very refreshing in the world we live in today...thank you for putting this together and cannot wait to do it again!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through Ali's. I was thrilled to find someone like me who likes scrapbooking. My kids have 2 mums too! And I love scrapbooking. This is great! You are now on my blog reading list.
and only your best friends will trust you enough to follow Betty anywhere....even if it means getting off at a few wrong exits along the way.. thanks for everything... T
ReplyDeleteYikes. Not sure what the one anonymous comment is about (the "eyeopener"), and not sure I even want to know. I just know that I got a lot of inspiration this weekend, for my scrapping, for my life art and for my life in general. The kind of inspiration that makes me glad to know people like Rollie. My husband always says that we wouldn't need government "hand out" type programs if more private citizens would be willing to offer a hand - this weekend was a great example of that. I'll ride the bus or just walk along with you if you run out of bus tokens :)
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at this for two days now, Miss Laurel. Never fear, Hon, someone just needs a little vodka with her bitters.
ReplyDeleteRollie is computer savvy enough to trackback and figure out who Little Miss Panty Twist actually is. Nobody's anonymous 'round these parts.
I purely cannot believe that someone would purposely come here and poop on Rollie's front porch like that. What Thumper said, Darlin' "If you don't have something nice to say..."
